The floor, as it stands this week
Each dealer runs their own booth and restocks it on their own schedule, so this list is a map of what is in the building rather than a catalogue. Two spaces are open at the moment.

Pressed glass and jadeite
Depression glass, jadeite, and a shelf of pink and green that turns over faster than anything else in the room.

Booth 2
Farm primitives
Crocks, hand tools, egg baskets, seed sacks. Heavy things that came off farms inside twenty miles.

Paper and postcards
County plat maps, real photo postcards, school yearbooks.

4 x 6 wall space with eight foot lattice. Front third of the room, first thing anyone walks past.

Furniture, mostly oak
Dressers, washstands, pressback chairs. Refinished and left alone in about equal measure, and priced accordingly. This dealer will deliver inside the county.

Kitchen and enamelware
Pyrex, enamel pans, wooden handled everything.

Country and gospel LPs, tube radios, a rotating box of 45s at a dollar each.

Hand pieced tops, feed sack fabric, tablecloths.

Tools, hardware and signs
Planes, wrenches, tins, and the porcelain signs that people drive over from St. Joseph for. The busiest booth in the building on a Saturday morning.

Renting a booth
You price your own stock, you keep your own key, and you restock whenever you like during open hours. We run the till, take the card payments, and hand you a statement on the first of the month.

Open since 2000
The building was a hardware store before it was this, which is why the floor slopes toward the back and why the shelving on the north wall is bolted into brick. We took it on in 2000 with six dealers and have not been below sixteen since.
Most of the stock comes out of houses within about thirty miles, because that is where the dealers buy. If you are clearing a house and want to know whether any of it is worth a booth rather than a skip, ring and ask. That conversation is free and we have it most weeks.
